September 04 Surgery Scheduled-MEI have an appointment with Dr. B here in his office on the 29th of September to ask him any further questions I may have.
Amy told me I will need to be off my celebrex for about 10 days prior to the surgery. I was really whining about that. She told me that I should discuss this with my primary physician and see what meds I would need to back off of and or that I could take prior to surgery.
Please keep me in your prayers. It is 21 years since I had any kind of surgery. I have had 6 surgeries prior to that. I am scared!! With the other stuff that I have going on with my health, I am certainly apprehensive!
On that note, we are going camping probably for the last time this season when Mr.. G. has his week off and his Dad is coming tomorrow. Ya probably won't hear much from me for awhile.
PS: My primary physician's nurse, Lynn, just called. She said the only thing Dr. R's wants me to go off of is the glipizide for the diabetes for that one day as I will not be eating. He reviewed all my meds and didn't say anything about the celebrex but she is going to ask him specifically again as that was what I made the phone call for. She also asked who was doing the pre op physical and blood work... I gave her Dr. B.'s phone # and Amy's name to contact in Steamboat. Geez, I just had a physical in July... Well, if they need to do blood work, I told Lynn to let me know what she finds out... later, hugs, lottemae
PSS: Well, Lynn called back Dr. R. said he was not worried about my taking the celebrex and having surgery. I would think it would be worse to go off of it and that must be what he is thinking too. She hadn't talked with Amy yet but would tell Amy that when she talks with her about the physical/blood work etc.
ok... have a great weekend and week ahead. hugs, lottemae September 01 Happy Labor Day! Happy September 1st!Well, my favorite month of the year has finally arrived. SEPTEMBER! I don't have much to say, except that I hope you are all having a wonderful Labor Day weekend and that your September is the best yet.

August 31 Three Woman Friends--author unknownThree women friends, one in a casual relationship, one engaged to be married and one a long-time wife, met for drinks after work. The conversation eventually drifted towards how best to spice up their sex lives. After much discussion, they decided to surprise their men by engaging in some S&M role playing.
The following week they met up again to compare notes.Sipping her drink, the single girl leered and said, "Last Friday at the end of the work day I went to my boyfriend's office wearing a leather coat. When all the other people had left, I slipped out of it and all I had on was a leather bodice, black stockings and stiletto heels. He was so aroused that we made mad passionate love on his desk right then and there!"
The engaged woman giggl ed and said, "That's pretty much my story! When my fiancé got home last Friday, he found me waiting for him in a black mask, leather bodice, black hose and stiletto pumps. He was so turned on that we not only made love all night, he wants to move up our wedding date!
The married woman put her glass down and said, "I did a lot of planning. I made arrangements for the kids to stay over at Grandma's. I took a long scented-oil bath and then put on my best perfume. I slipped into a tight leather bodice, a black garter belt, black stockings and six-inch stilettos.I finished it off with a black mask. When my husband got home from work, he grabbed a beer and the remote, sat down and yelled, 'Hey, Batman, what's for dinner?'"
Glad I am NOT married to him!!! hugs, love, laughter, and all of God's Richest Blessings, lottemae August 28 Medical Report.. meWell, I got to see the cat scan yesterday afternoon. The nurse had given me a copy of the cat scan report. Lots of $50. words in there. When Dr. B came into the room, I told him he would have to interpret that for me. We discussed the detached heel what could or could not be done and of course, surgery.
Dr. B. wants to consult with his friend and fellow orthopedic Dr first and then Amy, the nurse, will get back to me from the office. I gave him a copy of Mr Guppe's schedule for Sept and Oct so that they can try to work the surgery around Mr. Guppe's week off. Dr. B. said, "You will be in the hospital." So that means it will not be a day type surgery and will not be sent home the same day. He siad it will probably be October, but Amy would get back to me.
He is so kind and has a very good bed side manner. Unlike the other orthopedic Dr. I saw 4 years ago and revisited last year. That man is so abrupt and uncaring. Mr. Guppe says the old coal miners like him. I can see why. However, even though I have to travel 40 miles one way to see Dr. B. most of the time (he only comes to our town about once a month) I prefer his quiet demeanor and kind approach.
The cat scan really shows up the massive build up of calcium deposits and bone spurs and the detachment of the heel from the foot and ankle. The GOOD thing is that the ankle definitely is still in tack.
I took some notes... (he looked at me and said, "you are taking notes?") I said, "Yes, I was an office manager for an orthodontist and know that sometimes it helps to take a few notes to remember the most important key issues." He said, "yes, I forget where I read how little a person really remembers." and he smiled.
I also clued him into my allergies. This surgery stuff is not going to be a picnic, however, I feel that I cannot go on like this any longer. I never used to be afraid to have surgery. I have had six of them. Woke up in the night thinking about all this stuff and all I can say is for someone who doesn't do pain pills except for my celebrex .... I will be wanting some good stuff to keep the pain away.
That's all I know for now. When I hear from Amy, the nurse, I will let you know more. Enuf about me, you guys out there get ready for a great weekend and be safe!
hugs, love, and laughter, lottemae
